The decision was based partly on feedback from customers concerning the superior performance of the OMNIplus Summum and the technological leadership of the Picanol machines, but equally important was the evaluation of Picanol's service level in broader terms.

The company currently has 12 Gamma rapier weaving machines together with 25 OptiMax and 32 OMNIplus Summum machines, while another 32 OMNIplus Summum machines are on order.

Ilay Textile currently has 64 Picanol OptiMax machines (both dobby and jacquard versions), along with 16 OMNIplus 800 (cambox version) and 20 OMNIplus Summum (dobby) weaving mainly women’s outwear.

Çalik Denim uses Picanol machines to make its fabric. The denim is woven with 144 OptiMax, but now the company has also installed its first 40 OptiMax-i.

Siyaram is now one of the biggest Picanol customers for rapier machines, having installed 188 rapiers of various generations. The latest is the state-of-the-art installation of 120 OptiMax rapier machines at Tarapur.

The group started its business with two power looms in 1982 and now has 64 shuttle looms and 48 Picanol airjet machines (24 OMNI and 24 OMNIplus Summum).

Picanol’s association with Sanjay Ghodawat dates back to 2005 when the group bought its first batch of 16 GamMax rapier machines. Since then it has increased capacity by adding another 48 airjet machines, the latest being the state-of-the-art Summum airjets.

Kapoor has been consistently increasing its production capability and has more than doubled the installed capacity over the last four years as it continues to grow its export sales.

After a detailed study and comparing performance of various airjet machines, they decided to buy Picanol and installed 24 of the very latest, state-of-the-art Summum airjets.
