We went for the Picanol OMNIplus Summum because of the high speed and good efficiency. Zaman Textiles has a rich history, having been established decades ago by Premier Group in the Kotri and Karachi area. It specializes in household textiles and has significantly increased its presence in the international market, especially Europe and America. Another target market for Zaman is hospitals and institutions, which have specific and extensive requirement for high quality and durability to ensure hygiene. Linen, which is characteristically used by hotels, hospitals and institutions, comprises bed sheets, mattress protectors, etc. These are usually available in plain fabrics in white and lighter shades.
Zaman produces patient gowns, scrub suits, surgical gowns, operation sheets, aprons, medical protection bags, napkins, sheets and pillows in plain weave and twill, as well as sheeting fabrics. For the household sector the Zaman product category includes bleached, printed and dyed sheet sets, duvet covers and decorative pillows. Fabrications include solids, prints and sateen. Zaman is fully compliant with best manufacturing practices and successfully caters for the demands of customers by meeting their expectations and delivering quality on time. Zaman has a philosophy of achieving excellence right from the cotton fields, selecting the best quality cotton and storing it in a clean environment. The raw cotton is then converted in expertly designed, temperature-controlled factories using the fastest machinery with in-process inspection.
Zaman Textile Mills Ltd (ZTML) has 24,000 spindles producing quality yarn in a state-of- the-art plant with an output of over 18 million pounds of yarn annually. A ready stock of dyed cotton fiber is maintained to ensure prompt delivery. In the weaving department Zaman has installed a variety of Picanol airjet machines. It started with the OMNIplus, totaling 132 units. This was followed with an order for 12 OMNIplus 800 and was completed in 2012, 2013 and 2014 with the installation of 112 OMNIplus Summum machines. As such Zaman is one of the most important airjet references for Picanol in Pakistan. These airjets produce more than 36 million meters of fabric per year.
