Azure API integration

Description

You will build integration solutions in Microsoft Azure and Microsoft BizTalk. In this way, you will connect the internal systems of our employees, customers, and suppliers with each other. Microsoft Azure DevOps helps you go through all the phases of software development: from analysis to development, (automatic) testing, documentation, build and release management, etc.

Your task

  • Analyzing the needs of the end users and transforming them into functional solutions.
  • Assisting, advising, and collaborating very closely with colleagues, end users, and external parties to achieve good project results.
  • Analyzing, developing, and monitoring integration solutions end-to-end. You will build these solutions in Microsoft Azure with LogicApps, ServiceBus, and Microsoft BizTalk.
  • Evaluating the implemented solutions both technically and functionally.
  • Documenting and reporting on the status and progress of the project.
     

Skills and Tools

  • You should be interested in digitalizing business processes and building system integrations.
  • You should have experience in requirements analysis, specifications, and functional/ technical analyses.
  • You need to have a strong analytical ability and knowledge to empathize with the needs of the end users.
  • You should be driven to learn more about Microsoft Azure cloud integration (LogicApps, ServiceBus, etc.), Microsoft BizTalk, XML, REST APIs, and Azure DevOps.

Description

You will be responsible for building dashboards and reports in the Microsoft BI platform.

Your task

  • Analyzing the needs of the end users and transforming them into functional solutions.
  • Assisting, advising, and collaborating very closely with colleagues, end users, and external parties to achieve good project results.
  • Analyzing, developing, and monitoring the data warehouse (Azure Synapse) and the ETL processes (Synapse Pipelines).
  • Participating in the development of Power BI Datasets and various reports for internal end users.
  • Evaluating the implemented solutions both technically and functionally.
  • Documenting and reporting on the status and progress of the project.
     

Skills and Tools

  • You should be interested in digitalizing business processes and analyzing data.
  • You should have experience in requirements analysis, specifications, and functional/ technical analyses.
  • You need to have a strong analytical ability and knowledge to empathize with the needs of the end users.
  • You should have a good knowledge of (or be eager to learn more about) T-SQL, Synapse Pipelines, Azure SQL Database, Azure Data Lake, Azure Synapse, Power BI Service, Power BI Datasets, and Azure DevOps.

 

Digital workplace

Description

At Picanol, we are focused on operating a digital workplace with Microsoft Windows 10 and M365. This position requires you to contribute to the further roll-out and proper use of the Microsoft Windows and Microsoft 365 platform, which serves as the framework for our online collaboration.

Your task

  • Contributing ideas on how the digital workplace can improve the efficiency of our employees and exploring new opportunities.
  • Analyzing the needs of the end users and transforming them into functional solutions.
  • Assisting, advising, and working very closely with colleagues, end users, and external parties.
  • Testing and documenting to achieve good results.
  • Developing training materials and managing them in our central learning platform.
  • Providing training and coaching end users in using our IT resources.
     

Skills and Tools

  • You should be interested in digitalizing business flows.
  • You will be required to discover the needs of end users and convince them of the benefits and possibilities offered by a digital workplace.
  • You must be enthusiastic about providing training to end users.
  • You need to be familiar with Windows and the Microsoft 365 platform.
  • You should be interested in learning more about building solutions with the low-code Microsoft Power Platform.
  • You need to be able to work both as part of a team and independently.

Description

You will be responsible for developing business applications in Microsoft 365 using the Microsoft Power Platform. You will be expected to build the user interface with Power Apps and manage it with workflows created in Power Automate. You will need to connect and work with data from various applications within the Microsoft 365 environment.

Your task

  • Analyzing the needs of the end users and transforming them into functional solutions.
  • Assisting, advising, and collaborating very closely with colleagues, end users, and external parties.
  • Building apps that meet the functional requirements.
  • Building efficient workflows with Power Automate.
  • Making use of diverse connectors: Dataverse, AI Builder, etc.
  • Testing the implemented solutions both technically and functionally.
  • Documenting and reporting on the status and progress of the project.
  • Providing training and coaching to end users.
     

Skills and Tools

  • You should be interested in digitalizing business flows.
  • You need to be familiar with IT and software development.
  • You must have a strong analytical ability and knowledge to empathize with the needs of the end users.

Artificial intelligence

Description

Working at Picanol, you will explore the applications of Artificial Intelligence (AI). Specifically, you’ll need to look for tools that help optimize the work of our employees and make it more efficient. AI is a powerful tool that uses advanced machine learning (ML) techniques and natural language processing. Therefore, we strongly believe it can help in terms of automating existing processes and increasing the overall productivity of our employees.

Your task

  • Exploring the processes we can improve with the help of AI.
  • Evaluating how AI can be used to increase efficiency and its potential impact on workload, productivity, and colleague satisfaction.
  • Identifying specific use cases and scenarios in which AI can be valuable.
  • Setting up proof-of-concepts to demonstrate the applicability and effectiveness of AI applications.
  • Preparing guidelines and recommendations for implementing AI within the company.

“I joined the Picanol IT Applications EC team for a period of 4 months to research the digital workplace rollout with Microsoft Windows 10 and M365 for my bachelor thesis.

During my project, I received some good guidance and support from the team, while at the same time, I was also given the freedom to try out new things. This made it an excellent learning experience for me. After my internship, I was given the opportunity to start working at Picanol as an Application Analyst.

Working permanently at Picanol was an obvious choice for me. I had been working as a student in the IT department for 3 years before applying for my internship. As a working student, I’ve had the chance to try different things and explore my interests. During my vacation work period, I provided support to the Systems team, the internal Helpdesk, and the EC team. Thanks to that experience, I also got to know a lot of colleagues and the company quite well.
