AirStream: introducing the future of air insertion on the next generation of the OmniPlus-i Connect

With the launch of the next generation of the OmniPlus-i Connect airjet weaving machine, Picanol is proud to present AirStream – a breakthrough innovation that redefines airjet weaving. AirStream embodies the core principles of Smart Performance, combining cutting-edge technology with intelligent design to deliver unmatched efficiency and precision. 

At the heart of AirStream is a completely redesigned air supply configuration. This new layout offers a more open structure, ensuring maximum accessibility, and that is just the beginning. This is because the redesigned, highly responsive main nozzle valves now operate with even greater precision, empowering users to fine-tune the machine for optimal performance. Compared to the previous generation of OmniPlus-i Connect, speed increases of up to 100 rpm are now achievable.

Looking to reduce energy consumption while maintaining the same level of performance? If so, then AirStream makes it possible. By lowering the pressure on the main nozzles to a range of up to 0.5 to 1.0 Bar, users can significantly reduce their energy consumption. For example, reducing compressor pressure by 1 Bar results in energy savings of approximately 7%. 

We’ve also enhanced the integrated electronically controlled airflow. Consequently, air is now delivered to the main nozzles only when it is needed. Furthermore, for the first time, this happens within the insertion cycle itself – a revolutionary advancement that results in savings of up to 12 Nm³/hr.
