Today Picanol launches the OMNIplus 800 TC airjet weaving machine for the production of tire cord. Tire cord is a technical fabric used to reinforce car or truck tires. The OMNIplus 800 TC is based on the OMNIplus 800 airjet weaving machine, which was launched by Picanol in 2005 and is already generally recognized as one of the most advanced airjet weaving machines for the production of a wide variety of high-quality fabrics. The OMNIplus 800 TC combines all the strong points of the OMNIplus 800 with a set of extra features making it the ultimate system for tire cord weaving.
Combining unique features for the most profitable tire cord weaving Just-in-time requirements and cost reduction have become absolutely imperative in the tire cord weaving business. Margins for error are smaller than ever before. Operators are therefore looking for dependability and performance in their equipment.
The OMNIplus 800 TC weaving machine sets an example of ergonomics design. It is extremely easy to operate, has dedicated functionalities eliminating all possible errors, and requires only a very strict minimum of maintenance. The Sumo direct-drive technology in the weaving machine, drawing-in unit and batching motion make for very low power consumption.
Ergonomic drawing-in unit The drawing-in unit has been split in a yarn entry section and a drive section. Yarn-entry-section: -Aligned compensator -Lease rods -Warp stop motion -Optional expansion reed -Weaver’s platform
Double traction roll set-up in the drive section -More friction surface -Better equalizing of yarn tensions -Cords are aligned absolutely parallel thanks to slightly different speed of the rollers -Better ergonomics as operators can stretch around each individual roller -Optional pneumatically operated press roller
Weight-compensated batching motion -Precision spindles and guides for lifting -Gear-driven: no chains are used, eliminating the need for maintenance -Symmetric loading thanks to slides under the batching motion -Precision measurements of the length
Specific adaptations to the weaving-machine itself -Pneumatic tuckers at 900 rpm with cut reeds for highest performance -Air-assisted mechanical tuckers with full reed for maximum flexibility at 800 rpm -Both tucker-systems are interchangeable -Double pressure-rollers in the cloth take-up to avoid slippage of the fabric -Reduced maintenance by use of SUMO direct drives, eliminating all belts, cooling-fans, frequency-convertors , clutches and friction-brakes -Optical selvedge-detectors for increased quality assurance
Integrated design The OMNIplus 800 TC weaving machine has an integrated design of mechanical and electronic components, engineered and produced at Picanol and based on its latest OMNIplus 800 airjet weaving technology. -All parts are engineered and built within the Picanol Group -Self-diagnostics of the whole unit from the display -The graphical display gives easy access to all settings -Ethernet-connection possible -Original spare parts remain available over time from one source
Training tailored to your needs In addition to in-house training, Picanol also offers training on a fully operational OMNIplus 800 TC machine at its Günne division in Soest, Germany.
